对不能就地治疗的烧伤患者，转送到能够收治烧伤患者的医院治疗，谓为“转送”。转送途中对严重伤员有较大的影响，必须做好转送的各项准备工作。转送前必须建立切实可靠的静脉补液途径，纠正患者的血容量不足；保持患者呼吸道通畅，必要时作气管切开；简单清洁创面，敷上有效的外用药物，包扎；注意保暖，适当应用镇静止痛剂。在转送途中必须维持有效的补液；避免对创面污染和再损伤。随着现代交通工具性能和道路质量的提高，宜对烧伤患者尽快做好上述处理，尽快送至有关医院作进一步的治疗。对一些交通不便、路途遥远者，可就地抗休克，待平稳后24～48h再行转送。
