性质:使黏弹性材料在初始时发生一定常应变并予以保持,在这种情况下应力随时间衰减的曲线。若材料的黏弹性符合线性黏弹性模型,则应力弛豫曲线可用麦克斯韦模型描述:σ(t)=σ·exp(-t/τ)。式中σ0为初始应力,τ为弛豫时间。但高分子材料的实际应力弛豫要复杂得多,在无限长的时间内应力并不弛豫到零,而是达到某一平衡值。应力弛豫实验是研究高分子黏弹性形为的一个重要手段。应力弛豫像蠕变一样对温度有依赖性,并且符合时温等效原理。
