阿布里科索夫用迭代近似方法研究了非线性GL联立方程，1957年从理论上首先揭开了第二类超导体磁性质的非线性效应。他给出了从迈斯纳态开始进入混合态时的第一临界磁场Hc1(T)，即认为此时第一根涡线在样品中出现，其表达式为：
`H_{c_1}(T)=\frac{H_c(t)}{sqrt2K}(lnK 0.081)`

同时他又给出了样品从混合态开始进入完全正常态（或有表面超导相的态）的第二临界磁场Hc2(T)：

这两个临界磁场均与温度T和材料性质的GL参量K有关。式中Hc(T)是热力学临界磁场，λ(T)，ξ(T)和φ0分别是穿透深度，相干长度和磁通量子。他还研究了混合态（也称涡旋态）中涡旋点阵（格子）分布结构和涡旋线结构等，并给出了明显形式，为拓宽和进深研究奠定了基础，并在应用上提供了理论依据。
