| 火口湖 caldera lake 火山锥顶上的凹陷部分积水形成的湖泊。又称火山口湖。外形似圆形或马蹄形。火口湖面积不大、湖水较深。它们的形成往往是地壳构造断裂活动引起，火山于喉管顶部爆破，深部熔融岩浆喷、涌至空中或地表，落于火山喉管附近，堆积成陡壁，火山喷发停息，出口熔岩冷却，形成底平外圆的封闭的凹陷形态，积水成湖。中国东北长白山主峰白头山天池即是火山口湖。
