Combined with the current status of standardization work in petroleum engineering construction specialty, this paper expatiates on presently existing main problems and causes of the problems, and brings forward some proposals on effectively promoting standardization work in petroleum engineering construction specialty.

Based on the author’s working experiences in standardization,this paper proposes some personal points of view on the basic principles in making CPCA standard,basic requirements in establishing the standard and related items in censoring the standard,so as to make the development of CPCA standardization work sound and fast.
