性质:分为爆炸浓度极限和爆炸温度极限。如不加说明,则所指都是爆炸浓度极限。爆炸浓度极限是指在一定的温度和压力下,气体、蒸气或粉尘、纤维与空气形成的能够被引燃并传播火焰的浓度范围。该范围的最低浓度称为爆炸下限、最高浓度称为爆炸上限。气体和蒸气的爆炸极限常用所占体积的百分数表示。粉尘和纤维的爆炸极限常用每立方米的克数表示。爆炸温度极限是可燃液体蒸发至浓度达到爆炸浓度极限时的相应温度,也分为上限和下限。可燃液体的爆炸温度下限即其闪点。在可燃性物质的生产、贮运和使用时,必须注意爆炸极限,以保证安全和防止损失。
