为Sjqvist(1938年)首先报道。在延髓切断三叉神经脊髓束以治疗三叉神经痛。其最大的优点是触觉不受影响，术后不致产生营养性角膜炎，食物不会残留颊部，不影响运动支。适用于：①双侧三叉神经痛；②疼痛对侧失明者；③伴有眼支疼痛者；④因癌肿影响到第Ⅴ、Ⅸ、Ⅹ对脑神经及中间神经者。
