苏联空军的战役军团。隶属于远程航空兵。下辖航空兵师、团及勤务保障单位。主要用于摧毁、破坏敌战略纵深和战区内的重要目标。苏联于1936年开始组建空军集团军，当时称为特种使命集团军。第二次世界大战期间，方面军航空兵编有17个空军集团军，远程作战航空兵（1946年改称远程航空兵）改编为 1个空军集团军。80年代初，方面军航空兵已撤销空军集团军，远程航空兵进行扩编,成立5个空军集团军。类似空军集团军这一级建制部队，美国和欧洲一些国家称为航空队。美国的航空队于1941年开始组建。1985年,有13个航空队,分别隶属于战略空军司令部、战术空军司令部、军事空运司令部和欧洲、太平洋战区空军司令部。航空队通常下辖空军师、联队和中队。战略空军司令部所属航空队，除有飞机联队外，还有战略导弹联队。
