They are tetrahedral pentraerytritol esters(5 and 9) which are synthesized via esterification of pentraerytritol with corresponding carbonic acid;and tetraphenylmethane derivatives 16,17,which are synthesized from the corresponding tetraiodide by suzuki coupling reaction as key step.
