Polymer-based light-emitting diode employ N-vinylcarbazole(PVK) doped by dilute phosphorescent dye factris-(2-phenylpyridine) iridium[Ir(ppy)_3]as active layer was fabricated.

On the basis of the fluorescence quenching phenomenon of 5,10,15-tripyridyl-20-phenylporphyrine(TPyPP) by cadmium ion,a high-sensitivity fluorophotometric determination of trace cadmium was established.

The ground-state structures and luminescent properties of fac-Ir(ppy)3(1) and the derivatives(2～8) through introducing a benzo ring on ppy ligand have been systematically researched,where ppy=2-phenylpyridyl.

This thesis focus mainly on investigating on the synthesis and reactivity of lanthanide derivatives with the tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate ligand (Tp~(Me2)), wherein 27 new lanthanide complexes with the Tp~(Me2) are synthesized and the structures of 26 compounds are determined through X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis.
