Potassium triborate was synthesized with potassium carbonate and boric acid by controlling suitable feed mixture ratio,reaction temperature and dehydration temperature in the self-designed boiling reactor.

The photographic properties of silver bromoiodide emulsions were discussed when different methods were applied in adding the potassium triiodide aqueous solution into the reaction vessel during the period of precipitation.
