性质：主要是防止合成纤维燃烧的物质。有三种类型：（1）织物后整理阻燃剂，是最早采用的阻燃方法，使用方便，但添加剂用量较多，且影响性能，增加成本，效果不能持久。（2）添加型阻燃剂，已得到普遍的应用，加入聚合物中，但不参加树脂的聚合反应，有低分子有机化合物，如磷酸三个2,3-二溴丙烯酯、溴乙烯、苯乙烯、偏二氯乙烯、丙烯酰胺的混合物等。在湿法纺丝前加入原液中；在熔融纺丝时在纺丝前与聚合物共混，必须先磨细，并且要求不污染溶剂，不溶解于水，在纺丝过程中无堵孔现象。（3）反应型阻燃剂，是发展方向。加入方式与添加型阻燃剂相似，但阻燃剂能与纺丝用聚合物共聚，成为纤维聚合物的组成部分，有可能保证阻燃效果的持久性。所用阻燃剂是四溴双酚A和环氧乙烷的加成物2,2-双[4-（2-羟乙氧基）-3,5-二溴苯基]丙烷。
