【性状】
本品呈圆柱形，长20～40cm，直径1～2.5cm。表面白色或淡黄色，有浅 纵沟纹。体轻，质松软，稍有弹性，易折断，断面平坦，显银白色光泽，中部有直径 0.3～1.5cm的空心或半透明的薄膜，纵剖面呈梯状排列，实心者少见。无臭，无味。
【鉴别】
本品横切面：全部为薄壁细胞，椭圆形、类圆形或近多角形，外侧的细 胞较小，纹孔明显，有的细胞含草酸钙簇晶，直径15～64μm 。
【炮制】
除去杂质，切厚片。
【性味与归经】
甘、淡，微寒。归肺、胃经。
【功能与主治】
清热利尿，通气下乳。用于湿温尿赤，淋病涩痛，水肿尿少，乳 汁不下。
【用法与用量】
3～5g。
【注意】
孕妇慎用。
【贮藏】
置干燥处。
