性质:最初由硫酸亚铁加单宁萃取的水溶液(含单宁酸和没食子酸)配制而成。作为书写材料颜色暗淡,常加入一定数量的水溶性蓝染料,成为鞣酸铁墨水。因硫酸亚铁与单宁酸和没食子酸的溶液作用,能生成亚铁盐,在纸面上氧化而生成黑色的高价铁盐,字迹逐渐由蓝变黑,不溶于水,不褪色,故亦称蓝黑墨水。
