性质:紫色柱状结晶。熔点172~173℃。紫外线吸收峰531nm,494nm,462nm(吡啶)。易溶于乙醇、吡啶,能溶于丙酮、乙醚、不溶于苯、石油醚、二硫化碳。石油醚与90%甲醇水溶液间的分配试验全部属于下层。卡尔-普斯反应(Carl-price reaction)呈蓝色,最终变紫。存在于藻类Aphanizomenon flosaquae中。
