性质:又称垂体腺体叶。脑下垂体前叶在内分泌系统中起主导作用。它直接受下丘脑所分泌物质的刺激和神经管制,通过自行产生的一系列前叶激素(生长激素、促甲状腺激素、促肾上腺皮质激素、催乳激素、促黄体生成激素、促卵泡激素、脂肪酸释放激素),调节某些内分泌器官的发育及分泌,因此与动物的生长、性别及代谢密切相关。
