群青又称云青、石头青、佛青、洋蓝，分子式Na6Al4Si6S4O20,分子量862．64，蓝色粉末。因含有多硫化钠，有特殊结晶格子的硅酸铝，故具有消除及减低白色材料中含有黄色色光的效能。不溶于水。能耐高温、耐碱、耐候性及耐光性好，但不耐酸，遇酸分解而变色。吸人粉尘，表现为食欲不振，肺内出现它肺样变化。
用作胶粘剂与密封剂的着色填充剂。贮存于通风、干燥的库房内，防潮。
