四溴丁烷简称TBB，结构式BrCH2CHBrCHBrCH2Br，分子量371.71，白色粉末。四溴丁烷有内消旋韧外消旋两种旋光异构体。内消旋异构体为针状结晶，熔点110～ll9℃，沸点180～181℃(8kPa)，开始分解温度150 ℃。溶于乙醇、丙酮、氯仿、微溶于石油醚，不溶于水。有毒，高浓度时有麻醉作用，也有局部刺激性。
用作添加型阻燃剂。
