| 檀香醇 santalol 一种萜。分子式C15H24O。檀香油中约含90％的a-檀香醇和β-檀香醇。a-檀香醇沸点301～302℃，相对密度0.9679（20／4℃），比旋光度  ＋17°；溶于乙醇。β-檀香醇沸点167～168℃(10毫米汞柱)，相对密度0.9750(20／4℃)， －90.5°。a和β体均易与邻苯二甲酸酐在苯中反应生成酯，二者臭氧化都得甲醛和丙酮。a-檀香醇和β-檀香醇都可用作肥皂和洗涤剂的香料。
