By empirical research and analysis,the paper firstly unveils both the significance and the deficiency of existing ECLD in assisting trans- lating and then finds out the real information needs of translators involved,and finally constructs an ideal entry model accordingly in which the translation-oriented function of ECLD is strengthened.

The translator should analyses and comprehend the rhetorical function of source language to translate into English on the basis of the theory of functional translation.

The focus of functional translation theory is not the equivalence of target text and original text,but the stress of sticking to standard of functional and faithful equivalence on the basis of the original with the expectation of the functional object,which results in the infidelity of culture.
