科属：竹芋科竹芋属
形态：多年生常绿草本。株高２０－５０厘米。叶丛生，薄革质，叶长３０－６０厘米，长圆状披针形，叶面深绿色，有丝绒光泽，叶背紫色，有绿白色或绿褐色斑纹，沿中脉左右交互排列。穗状花序，小花紫白色。主要栽培变种有；桃羽竹芋，叶革质，肖绿有光泽，中脉两侧有羽毛状白色双线条纹，泛桃红；孔雀竹芋，叶上有如孔雀羽毛一般纹样和色彩。
装饰应用：中小型盆栽。其叶色、叶表图案美丽，颇具现代风格。置于书桌、茶几或博古架上，采用白塑或白瓷套盆，更能显示其形色之美。
水：喜湿润，５－９月生长季节需充分浇水，经常给叶面喷水，忌积水。冬季减少浇水，盆土干时再浇水。
肥：生长季节每隔半月施稀薄液肥１次。
土：喜温暖，惧寒冷，生长适温２０－３０℃，越冬温度１２℃。
光：喜半阴，忌烈日曝晒。
繁殖：春季换盆时分株繁殖即可。
