人外周血白细胞在一定条件下能粘附于清洁的玻璃表面。在相应抗原作用下，这种粘附能力就明显降低，表现出粘附抑制现象，且具有特异性。如病毒感染时，白细胞吸附呈抑制状态，但可被相应中和抗体所解除；在肿瘤患儿，此现象可被病人的自身血清所解除。故可用于测定封闭因子。
