采得后除去残肉和泥土，煅后碾碎用。

【功用主治】
《东北常用中草药手册》："化痰消积，止痉。治胃痛，淋巴结结核，手足抽筋。"
【用法与用量】
内服：研末或煎汤，1～5钱；外用：研末调敷。
【选方】
治慢性骨髓炎：海螺壳煅成炭一两，人中白三钱，冰片八分。研细，用陈猪油或麻油调成稀糊状，外敷。(《单方验方调查资料选编》)
