石镜山在华阳镇东部。又称石照山，海拔463米。山中有峭石壁立，方广2丈，平滑晶莹，光可鉴物，人称"石镜"。"石镜清辉"为古华阳一景。镜旁有岩石，形似"仙女梳妆"座。又有石照亭、普照寺。亭早圮，寺已改建民居。近有白泉，从石罅泻出，四时不竭，传可疗暑，实为矿泉。山中丹崖翠壁，林木葱茏，风景幽丽。唐宋以来，时有名士登临游览，留下诗文传世。宋元丰八年（1085），苏辙任绩溪令，到县方视事3日，便游石照，作诗两首。有关石镜的神话故事颇多。相传此为"女娲补罢情天漏，堕向人间作镜石"之遗石；又有石镜照人三生之说，不仅显示外形美丑，还能透视心灵善恶。
