南竹 地下茎为单轴型。主干高11—13米，粗8—11厘米，茎环平，箨坏突起，节间（不分枝的）为圆筒形，长30—40厘米，节下生有细毛和蜡粉。箨鞘厚革质，背面密生棕紫色小刺毛和斑点；箨叶窄长形，基部向上凹入；在每小枝着生2—8片叶，叶片窄披针形，宽5—14厘米，次脉3—5对，小横脉显著。花枝单生，不具叶，小穗丛生如穗状花序，长5—10厘米，外被有覆瓦状的佛焰苞；小穗含二朵花，一朵可发育成熟，一朵退化。南竹主要分布于我国长江流域各省及河南、陕西，是竹家具的重要用材。
