补充资料:王借岗古火山遗址
王借岗位于佛山市西北8公里处,属张搓区辖内,岗高约60米。是由火山喷发的玄武岩构成,距今约二千五百万年,岩体柱状节理典型而罕见,对于研究珠江三角洲的地质构造、形成历史和古地理环境变迁都具有重要的科学价值。
同时,王借岗地理条件良好,西临东平河、北靠汾江,踞山近水、环境优美,岗顶为市区最高点,可遥瞰全城,景色秀丽,与威武多姿的玄武岩汇为一体,构成独具一格的景致。据《佛山忠义乡志》记载,远在明、清,王借岗已列入名胜,为佛山镇人游集之所。一九八二年佛山市人大把王借岗定为佛山的新八景之一。
《南海县志》载此山“高三十余丈,当浈(北江)、郁(西江)二水之衡,孤峙河岸,近佛山镇,与紫洞相望,为土炉、大江、张搓、佛山一带保障,大富环其麓,山产石如剑戟,然开采则盗频兴,明御史屠应坤奏封之”,可见,明代己开始制止在王借岗挖山取石。且奏请皇帝封山保护。近年,考古工作者还在王借岗挖掘出古窑址,出土了较为完整的酱黄釉碗等遗物,经鉴定,与石湾大帽岗、小矿奇石等处出土唐宋古窑遗物如出一系。82年文物普查中,将王借岗作为原始社会遗址调查,在山麓地表发现有磨制的石器残段,夹沙粗陶片及几何印纹陶片等,证实了该岗有新石器时代山岗遗址,与西樵山遗址相类。再次确定了王借岗的文物价值。
