岑巩龙鳌河位于贵州省东部岑巩县境内，距贵阳400公里，距铜仁100余公里。岑巩古称思州，这古思州历史颇悠久，古到传说中的尧、舜先贤时期，唐代贞观四年(公元630年)时设思州。
岑巩龙鳌河风景名胜区是古城思州的一处代表景点，是贵州省级风景名胜区，由龙鳌河、马家寨、鳌山、古城、龙田5个景区组成，风光殊为秀美。
到了思州古城，还可游览思州"八古"，即古城遗址、大有中木召古庄园遗址、思州观音阁古建筑、鳌山寺古建筑遗址、水尾隘门古建筑遗址、禹王宫古建筑、龙田万寿宫古建筑、龙田杨泗庙古建筑。这些去处，均有悠悠古韵，让游客颇觉过瘾。
