On the basis of the amount, quality and temperature of water from different water-bearing formations, this paper analyzes the exploitation potential of groundwater resources in Daxing District, Beijing.

Starting with an analysis of hydrogeology conditions of the inland basins in northwest region of China and utilizing the latest information from the survey of land resources, this paper evaluates systematically the supply resources of underground water in each basin, permissible exploitation resources, total resources of water and exploitation potential of usable water and groundwater resources.

It is thought that the real allowing exploitation amount of the groundwater is about 262,000m3/d, and there is the exploitation potential amount about 80,000m3/d in the part area.

By identifying hydrogeolocial regime,choosing aquifer conception model,determining boundary condition and analysis of space variation for initial water table elevation,aquifer bed elevation and hydrogeological parameters,authors have assessed exploitation potentiality of groundwater resources in the Shandianhe River basin of the Inner Mogolian section of Luanhe River with the VISUAL MODFLOW.

The authors introduced the types and features of groundwater in Hubei,and evaluated the development potentiality of groundwater for each county in Hubei.
