为兰科植物束花石斛Dendrobium chrysanthum Wall. et Lindl. 的根。
【植物形态】
茎圆柱形，近肉质，高20～145cm，粗1～1.7cm。叶纸质，披针形，长13～19cm，宽3～4.5cm，顶端尖。总关花序几天总梗，侧生于有叶或无叶茎节上；有花序2～20束，每束有花2～6朵；花金黄色，肉质，有香气。唇瓣近扇形，唇盘上有2个紫色斑块，2条褶片从基部伸至中部，边缘具流苏，两面均有绒毛。花期5～9月。 生于岩石上和树上。分布于贵州、广西、云南。
【采制】
同金钗石斛。
【性状】
茎细长圆柱形，中、上部不规则弯曲，长50～145cm，基部直径3～5mm，中部直径2～3mm，上部直径1.5～2mm，节间长1～4cm。表面金黄色或棕黄色，具粗细均匀的纵纹，节上有椭圆形花序柄痕及残存叶鞘，有的具紫红色斑点。质轻，易折断，断面灰棕色，略呈纤维性。鲜品茎大多向一侧弯曲，表面绿色，有光泽，质重。气微，味稍苦，嚼之有粘性。
【化学成分】
含生物碱，主含石斛黄碱（dendrochrysine）。
【性味及功能主治】
同金钗石斛。
