脑质内部的室管系统。在大脑半球内有左、右侧脑室；在间脑内有第3脑室；小脑和延髓、脑桥之间为第4脑室；第3脑室和第4脑室由中脑导水管相连。脑室内含脉络丛，产生脑积液充溢脑室并注入蛛网膜下腔滋养神经组织，作为一种缓冲介质保护脑组织免受震荡。如果脑室系统某部发生梗阻，则产生阻塞性脑积水。
