National Coal-Fired units Technical Association traces to the units competition commissioned by general federation of Trade Unions.

After the review on the whole process and results,some considerations on the contest organization and the creativity training for the undergraduate students have been proposed.

In this paper,the author does useful exploration and practice on the cultivation of undergraduates\' scientific and technological innovation ability from theory teaching,practical teaching,opening research project of teachers,building scientific and technological competition mechanism,building scientific and technological innovation base,culturing in cooperation with enterprises,etc.

This paper draws the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Contest experience,introduces the competition mechanism for curriculum design,explores in imparting knowledge and evaluation methods for innovative teaching models,and promotes the cultivation of innovation ability of students.

According to the new educational model based on the competition mechanism,encircling how to use existing experiment equipment resources and constructing a stable innovation working platform for students,this paper introduces the construction method and the practice achievement of innovation personnel training based on the competition mechanism and the future sustainable development.
