病理学术语。食管下端正常鳞状上皮剥落，覆盖以柱状上皮的状况。其范围为胃-食管接点以上3cm或更长些，是反流性食管炎的结果，故常伴有小的滑动性食管裂孔疝。巴瑞特食管可合并食管狭窄和食管消化性溃疡，并伴有恶变的倾向。食管双对比造影显示：①食管粘膜面呈现网状、鹅卵石样或绒毛状改变。②消化性食管溃疡不很多见，龛影多为单发，一般位于食管下段，其长轴与食管纵轴一致，邻近粘膜纹正常或周围有水肿。③炎症或溃疡愈合可引起瘢痕狭窄，显向心性，与正常交界呈渐进性，狭窄段较规则，轮廓线清楚。④轻度狭窄伴有下方小疝囊时，两者间出现浅的切迹样表现。
