植桑养蚕同池塘养鱼相结合的综合经营方式。“基”指挖地成塘时鱼塘周围堆泥形成的土埂(俗称塘基)。基上种桑，桑叶喂蚕，蚕沙喂鱼，鱼粪肥塘，塘泥肥基，塘基互养，形成良性生态循环。中国长江中下游地区采用较广。类似的综合经营方式还有珠江三角洲一带的蔗基鱼塘。
