| 《被缚的普罗米修斯》 Prometheus Bound 古希腊悲剧作家埃斯库罗斯的代表作之一。首演于公元前 465 年 。剧情发生在神话时代。宙斯登上权力的顶峰后，仇视人类，将火加以垄断，想让人类永远处于黑暗与愚昧之中。普罗米修斯同情人类的遭遇，于是不顾天条偷火下凡，教给人们用火的技艺。宙斯大怒，派几位大神将普罗米修斯押到遥远、荒凉的高加索山，钉在峭壁前，对他说，如果再不顺从，就用雷电劈开峡谷，将他埋葬，还要派一只凶猛的鹰来啄食他的肝脏。普罗米修斯喝退大神，呼唤灾难快些降临。顷刻间地动山摇、雷鸣电闪、狂风呼啸，普罗米修斯消失在宙斯的雷电中。这是埃斯库罗斯成熟时期的作品，人物形象完整 ，性格鲜明 ，结构比较简单，动作少，对话较多。普罗米修斯同宙斯的冲突是人权与神权的斗争。他为了拯救人类，反抗神权，反抗专制暴政，自愿承受苦难，是一个“哲学上最崇高的圣者兼殉道者”，他的斗争反映了人类向文明过渡的苦难历程。20世纪20年代初，该剧译成中文在中国广为流传。
