x-30 是由美国国防部和 nasa 共同组织研制的一种双座高超音速研究机，同时也是由 darpa 提出的国家空天飞机（nasp）计划的原型机。x-30 实际上是一种能水平起降单级入轨、高超音速的航天飞机，采用尖头狭身机体大后掠三角翼单垂尾布局，以减少高速飞行时的阻力。x-30 的机身从前到后为头锥、两人驾驶舱、电子设备舱、燃料舱，在机体腹部的动力装置由涡轮冲压/超音速燃烧冲压/入轨和再入大气火箭发动机构成，机体主要使用钛基复合材料，表面高热部分用带有内部冷却系统的防热材料敷设。
由于其研制难度太大和研制费用过高，x-30 项目仅仅只是停留在缩比模型研究阶段，并在 1994 年 11 月被取消，因而没有建造任何全尺寸实体样机。
