初心在缘曰觉，细心分别曰观。
［一、明利心中觉观发相］，谓修禅之人，宿无善根，现修定时，善法不起。但觉观攀缘念念不住，三毒之中，或缘贪，或缘嗔，或缘痴，如是经年累月，而不得定。此为明利心中觉观发相。
［二、半明半昏觉观发相］，谓修禅之人，于摄念时，虽了觉观烦恼念念不住，但随所缘，或明或昏；明则觉观攀缘起诸思想，昏则无记瞪瞢，无所觉知，是为半明半昏觉观发相。
［三、一向沉昏觉观发相］，谓修禅之人，于修禅定时，心虽一向昏闇犹如睡眠，然于昏昏之中，切切攀缘觉观不住，是名沉昏觉观发相。
