In spite of the short marriage with Ms Zhou,his first wife in Fuling who died only two years after their marriage,he got a lot of support from his father-in-law s family,so that he could live through the hardest days in his life,leaving a lot of poems.
涪陵为清代涪州治所,性灵派诗歌大家张问陶与之有着两世因缘:其与元配涪陵周氏的婚姻尽管异常短暂,周氏在婚后二年即告病故,但张问陶却因此得到岳父周兴岱、内兄周廷授等周氏家人多方面的全力支持,从而走过了他人生最为清贫艰难的日子,留下不少天籁自鸣的性情诗;而在张氏既殁三十余载的道光年间,搜其未刻遗稿付诸剞劂,完成了《船山诗草补遗》六卷刊印工作的陈葆森也是涪陵人。
