| 蕃兵 中国宋代西北边境由少数民族组成的地方兵种。北宋西北与西夏接壤地区，分布着一些羌人部族。宋人将他们分为生户和熟户。熟户是指靠近宋朝沿边，并接受宋朝统治的羌人。自北宋中期，为了对付西夏，给羌人（主要是熟户）部族的大小首领封官，由他们分别统率本部族壮丁，组成蕃兵，宋神宗时实行将兵法，蕃兵有的单独组成“将”的编制，有的与汉兵混合编组。宋廷除了对蕃部分配耕地外，对蕃兵的军官还分等另给“添支钱”。蕃兵虽是宋朝西北的一种地方军，但具有较强的战斗力，为宋军的精锐。 |
