【超货币供给理论】银行购买资产，一直都被视作提供货币的行为，银行仅仅是用信贷方式供给货币的机构。但是随着货币形式的多样化，能够提供货币的非银行金融机构愈来愈多，银行的信贷市场承受着日益剧烈的竞争压力。20世纪六、七十年代以来，超货币供给理论作为一种新的银行资产理论悄然兴起。该理论认为，银行信贷提供货币只是它达到经营目标的手段之一，除此之外，它不仅有多种可供选择的手段，而且有广泛的同时兼达的目标，因此，银行资产管理应超越货币的狭隘眼界，提供更多的服务。根据这一理论，银行在购买证券和发放贷款以提供货币的同时，积极展开投资咨询、项目评估、市场调查、信息分析、管理顾问、电脑服务、委托代理等多方面配套业务，使银行资产管理达到了前所未有的广度和深度。在非金融企业侵入金融领域竞争的时候，超货币供给理论使银行获得了相抗衡的武器，从而改善了银行的竞争地位。 但是，这一理论容易产生两种偏向，一是诱使银行介人过于广泛的范围，导致集中和垄断，二是加大了银行经营的风险，使银行很可能在自己不熟悉的领域遭受挫折。 但是这一理论适应了银行向全能及综合型方向发展的趋势，使银行给顾客提供的服务更加全面，还是有其积极意义的:、
