For a long time, the traditional theory on companies’association character, requiring at least two shareholders when the company is in and after incorporation, has been accepted as a dogma by scholars from the continental law system.

According to different characteristics of Fujianese groups in Southeast Asia and Western Europe, the different fields between Fujianese hometown associations in these two areas showed as follows: the background of their foundation; circumstances facing them; the aim of building; structure and function.
