1982年12月10日至1983年1月5日中华人民共和国文化部、中国戏剧家协会、中国美术家协会、中国舞台美术学会在北京中国美术馆联合主办的全国舞台美术展览。展品主要是30多年来中国舞台美术创作的优秀成果，并有少量古代和近代的舞台美术历史资料。展览共展出作品1367件，作者1311人。内容包括戏曲、 话剧、 歌剧、舞剧、舞蹈、木偶戏、皮影戏和杂技的布景、灯光、服装、化妆造型、绘景、道具、效果等方面的设计图、模型、 实物和彩色照片。分戏曲、话剧、 歌舞剧、舞蹈、综合 5个馆展出。展览会受到中外观众的欢迎和赞扬。展出期间还举办了专题报告会、座谈会和技术交流会，近 1万人参加了艺术交流活动。这次展览对中国舞台美术事业的繁荣和发展起了重要的推动作用。
