Beginning with the novel<Yingying miracle>,many literature kinds sing or change the story of CuiZhang , including the famous <shangdiaodielianhua song>of Zhaolingzhi in Song dynasty、<the west house song>of Dongjieyuan in Jin dynasty and<the west house>of Wangshifu in Yuan dynasty.
从唐代《莺莺传》开始，各个时代曾经以不同的文学形式对崔张故事进行改编或咏叹，比较为人所熟知的有宋代赵令畤《商调蝶恋花鼓子词》、金代董解元的《西厢记诸宫调》以及王实甫的元杂剧《西厢记》。

晚清奇才张之洞，少时便聪颖好学，深受老师喜爱，一天，老师带其春游，触景生情，出了一个对句：“驼背桃树倒开花，黄蜂仰采。”张之洞歪着脑袋，两眼盯着路边的莲池，对出了一个俏皮对句：“瘦脚莲蓬歪结籽，白鹭斜观。”老师听后又出了一联：“柳线莺梭，织就江南三春色。”张之洞思索了一阵后对曰：“云笺雁字，传来塞北九秋书。”据说，这副对联至今被楹联界称为绝对。
