作者简介
欧文·斯通（trving stone，1903－1989），美国传记作家，生于加利福尼亚。像他的同乡杰克·伦敦一样，斯通的童年生活十分艰难，读完中学后仍打工。读完大学之后，获南加州大学经济学硕士，后去印第安纳大学任教。
他的写作生涯是从写剧本开始的，以后转向人物传记小说的创作。他一生写了二十五部传记小说，其中最有名的是《梵高传——对生活的渴求》（1934）。
