Through the collection of literature on the lotus patterns,this article illustrates Koguryeo ceilings,walls,leung,dougong and other decorations in different parts of the different forms of art and its effects,and explores the reason why the lotus patterns is widely used in the decoration of Koguryeo architecture.

明代鹭鸶莲花纹嵌螺钿黑漆洗 洗似船形，长38厘米，宽21.5厘米，高7.7厘米。洗内有立墙隔成人小两格，内嵌鹭鸶莲花纹，外嵌石榴花纹，螺壳闪白光。全部花纹都用窄条形菏螺钿嵌成，无划纹，富有特殊的装饰效果和审美情趣。现藏北京故宫博物院。
