| 广东蚕业(Guangdong sericulture) 广东省是中国4大蚕区之一。广东蚕业的起始，迟于黄河、长江流域。汉武帝时，已有“桑、蚕、织、绩”采桑饲蚕的生产活动。 广东气候温和，雨量充沛，桑树发芽早，生长快，落叶迟。珠江三角洲一带，受振兴蚕业的刺激，在1840年和1866年，一再“弃田筑塘”、“废稻种桑”，修筑防洪用的“桑园围”，从而发展成为“桑基鱼塘”耕作型式的蚕茧生产基地，并与太湖平原的浙江、江苏、四川盆地并列为中国4大蚕区。 1949年建国以后，政府采取一系列恢复和发展蚕桑生产的措施，推行科学种桑养蚕技术，提高单位面积产量。全省种桑养蚕县（市），从11个发展到55个，1984年总产茧量2.335万亩左右，比1949年增长3.4倍。桑地面积稳定在24万亩左右，占全国桑地面积的3%左右。1978年已有27个生产单位的51亩，平均亩产桑叶超过5000kg。 广东桑蚕生产批次重迭，连续不断，形成了蚕品种的多样化。50年代初期，全部是2化性的“大造”系统和多化性的“轮月”系统黄茧品种，由私人经营蚕种生产。1954年起，国家有计划地在顺德、南海、中山等县各设一个以原蚕繁殖形式的蚕种场，生产改良种。 1981年全省设有缫丝厂12个，拥有缫丝机61，960绪，其中立缫机48，000绪，自动缫丝机13，960绪，缫丝行业职工11，659人；列入国家生产计划的丝织厂25个，丝织机总数为4，365台，丝织行业职工18，372人，印染丝绸的企业有4家，主机235台，印花台板44条（14，270米），印染丝绸年生产能力为6，800万米，印染行业职工3，200人。 |
