Performance analysis of PLC software redundancy system

Software redundancy has been put into practice in many projects, although, there are few theoretical analysis about software redundancy’s principle and its performance index.

Plateau-type unmanned power station dual PLC technology,the successful application of soft redundancy and power plant control technology and equipment into a broader project to lay a solid foundation for the layout,but also to PLC modules in power plant application has been further strengthened.

In this paper,the development of soft redundancy package based on MVB(Multifunction Vehicle Bus) communication is described,so that the VCU redundancy will not rely upon hardwares any more.

Three 20t/h chain furnaces using a PLC control system are realized through soft redundancy PLC technique.

According to the project,the study on the reliability of the project application was made,then some measures were put forword in order to improve the reliability,such as the design of power supply,adoption of the redundance of power supply,the redundance of CPU,the redundance of network,the redundance of host computer and operator work station,and perfect applica-tion effect was achieved.
