性质:最适生长温度在45℃以上的微生物。主要是各种细菌,如栖热菌属(Thermus)、硫化叶菌属(Sulfolobus)、热原体属(Thermoplasma)和嗜热脂肪芽孢杆菌(Bacillus stearothermophilus)等。广泛分布在草堆、厩肥、温泉、煤堆、地热区土壤、火山地及海底火山口附近等处。由嗜热菌所产生的耐热酶有重要的工业应用前景。水生栖热菌(Thermus aquaticus)产生的耐热DNA多聚酶“Taq”已成功地应用于极其重要的分子生物学技术——多聚酶链反应(PCR)技术中。
