By Integrating the smoothing techniques and placement methods of VBR video on MZ disk,and synthetically optimizing the requirement of disk I/O bandwidth,memory and disk storage space,the paper gives a smoothing retrieval algorithm that minimizes the memory cost and disk retrieval time of peak data rate,and maximizes utilization of disk storage space.
