A large number of poems about them have been preserved which reflect the cultural psychology of the litterateurs in Mid-Tang dynasty after the historical vicissitudes from prosperity to decline.

重庆人。中共党员。1946年毕业于重庆社会大学新闻系。1949年前当过纤夫、徒工、小学教员、报纸编辑，1949年后历任《新华日报》记者、编辑、校对科科长，北京《光明日报》记者，最高人民检察院助理检察员，北京第二外国语学院汉语教研室主任，中央纪委派驻中国社会科学院纪检组组长。中共中央纪委第一、二、三、四届委员和专职委员、研究室副主任及主任、二办副主任。1946年开始发表作品。1981年加入中国作家协会。
