或称附生水生生物,生长于淹没水中的各种基底(沉水植物、木桩、石头等) 表面。有细菌、原生动物、藻类和轮虫等。主要见于浅水。营固着生活；本身连同它们的分泌和排遗物常在基底上形成致密的覆盖层，粘着甚牢。它们在生态系统中占据不同的地位：细菌为还原者，藻类为生产者。有些种类（如船蛆）则为污损生物，常造成船体和水中构筑物的损坏。
